How to Disable Microsoft Security Essentials

Though disabling your security isn't something that you want to do all the time, you certainly need to know how to do it on the off-chance something you are installing is failing and you need to turn off all potential barriers.

Most security applications have an easy to see disable button from the toolbar rightclick menu or certainly when you open it up. I took me a few to find it on Microsoft Security Essentials, so I figured I would share it with you.

1. Open the application
2. Click Settings tab at top
3. Click Real Time Protection
4. Uncheck the top box "turn on real time protection"
5. Click save

Just make sure when you are done that you go back in and turn it back in or your computer will be open to threats.
