Google Chrome :: How to Pin a Tab
If you would like to pin a tab in Google Chrome, similar to pinning app tabs in Windows 7, you can right click the tab in question and select "pin tab". Though an avid user of Chrome for a long time now, I didn't pick up this tidbit until recently.
Also note that the tab will get smaller and will now glow lights when there is activity on the page. I have made use of this feature for my gmail and google+
